Seven Dwarf’s Mine Coaster - 19/5/14 - by Chad Dewey |
Quite a bit has happened at the Seven Dwarf’s Mine Coaster since the last time we talked about it: from a time-laps video to the opening of the coaster and more. (Note: if there are any videos or picture that will spoil the surprise I will forewarn you)
New Fantasyland took a totally of four years to construct from spring 2010 to spring 2014. Disney Imagineers set up a fixed camera that took shots of the project from a top of Cinderella’s castle, and at the end of the expansion they took all of the shots and made a 30sec time laps video. Which you can check out here.
So the Seven Dwarf’s Mine Coaster opened on Wednesday May 28, 2014 they had a small opening ceremony to officially welcome the ride to Fantasyland Forest. Here is a link to more information and picture of the opening ceremony as well here is a link to a video of the ceremony. Like we expected it did have a soft opening period though which started on May 21 and the ride would sporadically open and close at any time. During Rock Your Disney Side 24hr Party, which took place on May 23, 2014, the coaster operated full time.
Let’s talk about the ride success so when the ride opened for Rock Your Disney Side 24hr Party in the first 5 minuets the ride reach the second mark and just 30mins after it opened it reach a line up of 3hrs! The tine up went all the way around the mountain to Storybook Circus; here is a video showing the line up. So the ride seams like it is a totally big hit with the guests, as expected!
