WDW - Epcot Update - 1/7/14

Space Ship Earth (Epcot) - May 5, 2013
It’s been a while since I last talked about Epcot! The reason being not much has happened so I was waiting till their was an off information to write a post about it. Since we last took a look at the park a few things have happened including: some new treats have been added to the menu, some event for the FIFA World Cup have been going on, as well as some refurbishment and maintense work and the Monorail system’s 4th of July weekend schedules has been released.

Lets start of with some of the new treats that are coming to Epcot! This summer Disney released two new treats that can only be found at Epcot! They booth can be found at Africa Refreshments Cool Post in World Showcase. The first one is a pineapple or coconut frozen yogurt... or you can mix them together. ($3.99 and on the Disney Dinning Plan) and the second being Africa Rum Mango smoothie($9.50). Both of which are perfect for a hot summer day! For pictures check out this post Disney Parks Blog posted.

As the whole work is celebrating the ‘world most beautiful sport’ so is Disney! They will be displaying the games on big screens with beverages and snacks available. As well as the live coverage Epcot will be providing a special soccer expense in the Germany pavilion and a soccer topiary photo op near World Showcase Plaza. To find the exactly locations of the screens check out this post.

Here are some picture of the events happening at Epcot for the FIFA World Cup.

Garden Grill Restaurant is one of Future World’s more interesting restaurant,(if you are not familiar with it the whole restaurant rotates so that you can get a glimpses of some of the scenes from the Land boat ride), the past couple of months the restaurant has stopped rotating which has fueled some debate on if it would become stationary. But a few weeks ago the restaurant started rotating again just like before. As well the restaurant is getting it’s floor replace inspections the first part has been already completed.

As the 4th of July is just 3 days aways Disney has reeled some new scheduling for their Monorail system:
Tron Monorail - EPCOT - 10/05/11 - by Chad Dewey

July 3 and 4 Monorail Hours
  • Express Beam: 7:30am to 2am
  • Resort Beam: 7am to 3am
  • Epcot Beam 8am to 2:30am
July 5 Monorail Hours
  • Express Beam: 8:30am to 11:30pm
  • Resort Beam: 7am to midnight
  • Epcot Beam: 8am to 11pm
Some major utility work has begun at Epcot’s Future World, no one knows exactly what happened but I'm guessing it must be a broken water main which in tern caused a sing hole. Construction start right after the conclusion of Epcot’s Flower and Garden festival.

That’s it for know at Epcot but be sure to check back with me later to found out about the latest stuff happening at Epcot, Walt Disney World and the other Disney parks and resorts. As well we might want to check out some of my other post about some projects happening at Disney Parks: Avatar LandShanghai Disneyland, Disney Springs and more.
