WDW - Disney Springs - 20/7/14

Disney Spring Construction Wall - May 8, 2013 - by Chad Dewey
Hey everyone quite a bit has happened at Downtown Disneyland since we last talked about it. Like: new concept art being released, construction updates, new packages, someone opening and closings and more.

First off lets talk about the concept art since that is one of the most interesting! The first piece depicts an area between the Hangar bar and Boathouse, this area look like it will be turned into a park with a stage and seats for live outdoor entertainment. The second piece looks like an area were the old Comedy Warehouse used to be located. Here is a link to the concept art pieces.

Okay so know lets look into how the other projects are going. Let take a look at the Boathouse, a nautical themed restaurant that is located between Paradiso 37 and Ragland Road located on the water edge. This is scheduled to be the first building that will open up in the Disney Spring’s expansion. As we can see in the pictures here, the restaurants skeleton has justly been finished, but there is still quite a bit of work to be done but it gives us a good idea on what it will look like. Here is a picture of the concept art of the restaurant.

On the other side of Downtown Disney in West Side phase 2 of the development of West Side High-line has begun. In phase 1 they built the part of the High-line, across form West Side Starbuck location, it allowed guests to receive shade under and seating, eating, viewing are above as well. In phase 2 the High-line is the exact same as in phase 1, it will proved shade under and seating, seating and a viewing area above as well. Here are some picture of the construction.

Back to Pleasure Island the water ways between Pleasure Island and the rest of Downtown Disney has been emptied and are being reconfigured for the The Land and Town Center. Right know construction has begun across form Raglan Road and around T-Rex. Their is no word on when this is scheduled to be finished. Here are some pictures of what it looks like.

More of the Lilly Pad has opened up, the Lilly Pad is the area in front of Fulton’s and Portobello. This area has been revamped do to the Disney Springs make over/expansion: all new sidewalks, light fixtures and planters have been put in placed in the area. Here are some pictures of the area.

The West Side Parking garage is slowly approaching its full hight and the entrance and exit ramps are being work on as we speak. The West Side Parking garage will be the first of two parking garages that will open up. When completed bolt parking garages will house 5,000 cars. Here are some pictures.

To finish it off Cirque du Soleil’s is know offering new premium packages for 'La Nouba’. The package is titled ‘L’Experience’, it costs $250 + tax for adults, and $215 + tax for ages 9 and under it includes:
