WDW - Disney Springs Update - 14/04/14

Disney Spring Construction Wall - May 8, 2013 - by Chad Dewey
Quite a bit has happened sense we last took a look at Downtown Disney, everything from constructions updates about bridges, causeways, docks, road expansion, new restaurant and shop.

Constructions on the new Market Place boat dock constructions has begun earlier this month. It will be locked behind Rainforest Cafe. The old boat dock was demolished a few months back do to the construction of the Market Place Causeway.

The new bridge that will connect Disney’s Saratoga Spring Resort and Downtown Disney's Market Place has almost been completed. Once it is completed it will provide a way to walk form the resort to Market Place as well it will act as a link to the new boat dock. Here is a link to some pictures of the bridge and boat dock that WDWMagic took.

As well Market Place’s Causeway is really taking shape know, they are aiming to finish it by the end of this year. Once completed it will link Rainforest Cafe to Lego Land, this will help congestion in Market Place a specially around the World of Disney area. Here are some picture of the causeway which WDWMagic took, a few days ago.

With all of the additional traffic do to Disney Springs Buena Vista Drive will be increased to 10 lanes, an additional bus lane will be built and two pedestrian bridges will be added to allow people to cross the road easily; as well their will be a new entrance built. Non of this has been confirmed though as of yet. The expansion will be down in phase starting form know until the completion of Disney Springs in 2016.

As well West Side’s Starbucks has started to tack shape, the other Starbucks is being built in Market Place just outside of World of Disney store. Here are some pictures of what the West Side Starbucks currently looks like. As well Sosa Cigar has received it’s Disney Springs paint scheme. Here are some pictures of what it looks like.

In October 2013 Wetzel’s Pretzels and Haagen Dazs kiosks were closed to make way for the Starbucks, West side location. Well they will be opening up against the Disney Quest Building on the side facing La Nouba which will open sometime in Spring 2014.

As we can see Downtown Disney's transformation into Disney Springs is well under way so be sure to check back with me to find out what will happen next.
