Shanghai Disneyland - Treasure Cover - Mar 19

Pirates of the Caribbean (at Walt -
Disney World in Florida) - May 6, 2013
Since 1967, when the first ever pirates inspired ride opened up at Disneyland California, it has been a long standing tradition at the Disney park to have a pirate inspired ride. And Shanghai Disneyland is no exception, but this time they are taking it to another level, they will be building the first ever pirates inspired land called, Treasure Cover. And a totally new Pirates of the Caribbean ride for Shanghai Disneyland Resort.

“Pirates of the Caribbean is one of the most iconic attractions in our parks, and we really couldn’t imagine Shanghai Disneyland without Pirates,” said Bob Iger, Disney chairman and CEO. “We wanted to create a one-of-a-king experience that would appeal to our Chinese guests while remaining true to its Disney heritage.”

For the first time in history, a Disney Park will be the home to a Pirates-themed land called Treasure Cover. This land will be filled with many Pirate Adventures. One of these adventure goes by the name Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle of the Sunken Treasure. In this all new e-ticket ride guess will go on an adventure with Captain Jack Sparrow and Captain Davy Jones. The ride will be brought to live by a blend of new technology and innovation. Disney promises that this attraction will be like no other.

“We are extremely proud of the work underway to bring the Shanghai Disney Resort to life,” said Tom Staggs, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. “And we’re excited to re-imagine the iconic world and characters of Pirates of the first time as an entire land that celebrates the creativity, imagination and adventure of booth the fan favorite attraction and the popular film franchise.”
